Nightclub lighting systems are as variable as the imagination of the designer. But in many cases, it seems as though the prevailing design philosophy was to install as much lighting as there is room for in the ceiling. Juliana’s believes in something different.
The purpose of lighting in a nightclub is to enhance the experience, not to create it. In some case, it is appropriate to specify an extensive lighting system because the market requires it, for example. But in other cases, the correct solution may be minimal lighting, or even no lighting at all. Less equipment but higher impact is usually a solid formula, but before deciding on the lighting equation, all factors must be considered – the size of the venue, the available budget, the competition, the type of customer, the music styles, available clear height, sight lines, vibration factors and aesthetic considerations.
